CHARM CITY BOYS
The notion of women taking on male personae originally occurred to me when I attended an opening of the Whitney Biennial in male drag in April 1989. Since none of my friends recognized me, I had no one to talk to, so I decided to take advantage of the situation and observe the scene as a man might. I got a beer and leaned against the wall, thinking I was safe.
